It took 25 minutes to receive our food for five people, while swatting at flies. Three of us ordered cheeseburgers and fries, which we thought would be the safest bet considering the issues in the kitchen and the flies. The burgers appeared fried due to the "lace" around the edges, the fries were lukewarm, and the mayonnaise on the side was hotter than the fries. My one aunt said she makes her pinto beans and cornbread better, as was not impressed (she was the one who recommended the place). My cousin had the chicken fried chicken sandwich and said the meat was mushy and falling apart. No one was impressed with the fried okra.
Another fried catfish dinner with home cooked vegetables. Really good and cooked to order. Okra, baked potato, delicious cole slaw with a sweet dressing. Just wish we'd had room for pie. Good service.
Depends on who's working if the food is great or not. The waitstaff are wonderful. Every once in awhile there is a feller strummin on the guitar and singing a few songs. Live music and good food under $10.00. Can't beat it.
We were there yesterday on 11/4/2017. There were more flies inside than people. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. An elderly gentleman who worked there kept apologizing for the wait. The staff never sanitized the plastic tablecloths between customers, and never swept the floors in the dining area or the kitchen. The staff also didn't appear to have experience in waiting and busing tables. For example our waitress brought our drinks out three at a time instead of putting them all on the same platter. And she got some of the drinks wrong.
Bottom line, we will not be back. We can make better food at home.
Great customer service, excellent food country style cooking. Good. Place to eat, visit or safe place to meet
Great food great service and was greatly impressed with the staff and everything in general the staff kept the place clean and sanitary. I will definitely be back
There was standing water in the kitchen, which may account for the number of flies. There was either mud or feces in the male bathroom on the floor. The building is still being renovated: missing lights, no covers on the outlets; no HVAC vent covers. We were wondering how or if they passed a building inspection.
